🎒 How CBE Works — A Parent's Guide
Grade 7–9 (Junior School): Your child explores broad subjects. Focus on nurturing their interests and strengths — not just exam scores. This is the discovery phase.
Grade 10–11 (Senior Core): Your child takes core subjects and 3 electives. Help them choose electives that align with their career interests. Use DIRAPATH to research which subjects lead to which careers.
Grade 12 (Specialization): Your child goes deep into their chosen pathway (STEM, Arts, Social Sciences, Sports, or Social Health). This directly determines university course options.
KCSE: The final examination at the end of Grade 12. Results determine university placement via KUCCPS. Help your child prepare early.
